one month left in midtown, and i have to miss the dally in the alley AGAIN. moving back to ferndale, right across the street (woodward) from my church (dunkin donuts/baskin robins). im excited to live with people again, and to pay about half of what im paying now. im concerned over the negative response this move has received. mostly, however, i think its a good thing. i'll be with music types, and i'll have a place to practice, and i'll be far, far away from university/marcus. its a nice house, too. |

wayne state told me to throw out this amazing ancient portable record player today. i took it home and started playing some of those records that were left at the 1/2way house. they are all jazz standards and old dance tunes, and i'm feeling classy as shit right now. the tupperware im using as a giant ceral bowl says otherwise. |

watchmen: sure i enjoyed watching it, but it wasn't good. yes i know, i'm confused too. let's just say i was really excited until it became suddenly and painfully clear that this was done by the 300 guy. it stayed true to the comic, that was good, but it's no substitute for good directing.
also i've never actually seen a movie where i thought the soundtrack/music choices had a NEGATIVE IMPACT on the movie. it's always either been neutral (most action flicks) or possitive (wes anderson). i felt embarassed for this movie at times because of the music. example:
cribbing from shrek? but using the really shitty version? fuck. also 99 red balloons for no reason.

the opening credits are amazing though.
game to play while watching: how many times does snyder use the EPIC LONG ASS ZOOM OUT?
really though, it was nice to watch, im all messed up in my head with these feelings dawg.
